The river Krka
The confluence of the rivers Sava and Krka is a very important natural heritage in the slovenian region of Posavje.
There is another river in this region, the river Sotla, which flows along the border line between Slovenia and Croatia.
In the Krško and Brežice field there are abundant resorces of underground water, which is also the main source of drinking water. The problem of this water is pollution.
The area called Jovsi is wetland. This is actually grassland on a flooding area along the Sotla river. The vegetation of the area is variegated; a lot of different kinds of birds nest there.
THE THERMAL WATER
The thermal water belongs to the group of underground water. It is the water whose temperature at the spring exceeds an average water temperature for more than 5° C. The temperature limit in Slovenia is 20° C.
The thermal springs are on the margin of bigger, geologically young sedimentary pools: the Krško-Brežice basin, the whole margin of panonian basin in the northeast of Slovenia. Slovenia has 24 natural thermal springs with a temperature between 18 and 38° C. Their common power is about 200 l/s. The priority use of the thermal water is for swimming not for drinking. It is used for recreation in health resorts, spas, for heating of rooms and greenhouses, drying and technological processes.
THE KLUN’S SPA
The Klun’s Spa lies about 10 km from Brežice in Bušeča vas. It is the smallest spa in Slovenia and the only one to have its private owner. There is a tectonic fault near the river Krka in the east of Bušeča vas.
They have: a wooden bathing area, where the water runs in, a sauna, the outer pool.
